What is your group all about?

Our group is about helping LGBTQIA+ people with intellectual disability and acquired brian injury to speak up.

We can help people learn about their rights, and what to do if they are being treated badly. 

Our group is a safe place for people from our community to belong. 

We are respectful and want to include people. 

If somebody is down, we’ll pick you up!

Do I have to be over 18 to join the group?

Yes. Rainbow United is a group for adults.

Do I need to have intellectual disability and/or acquired brain injury to join?

Yes. Rainbow United is a self-advocacy group that is run by and for people with intellectual disability and acquired brain injury.

 It’s important for us to have a space to talk about our shared experience and our rights. 

Nothing about us, without us!

Do I need to be part of the LGBTQIA+ community to join?

Yes. Rainbow United is for people in the LGBTQIA+ Community. This is an important part of our identity. 

We welcome people who are questioning their identities to come along and discover yourself. You are welcome here!

Does your group meet in person?

We have our fortnightly meetings on zoom, but we do go to events in person.
